May 28, 2021, Alyssa DeWitt who is five months pregnant, saved 3 children who were swimming in Michigan lake, as she jumped after she noticed the kids were waving their arms from the water after currents pulled them deeper into the lake. As soon as she noticed their arms waving, Alyssa began running down the pier to see how she can help. She then called 911 and says she screamed for police to hurry, but she realized that time isn't on her advantage, or else kids may not make it out of the water. She then stretched over the pier to reach out to the children, but getting them out was difficult: one of the girls looked at her and said, ‘I’m going to die! DeWitt said ‘I promise you. I am not going to let you die out here. I will get you out of this water.’” She then gets all her physical forces together, pulled the three children out of the water and over the pier wall to safety.
Shortly thereafter police arrived and were able to take it from there. DeWitt’s actions prevented a tragedy from happening and called her “heroic”, Police Chief Josh Glass said in a statement later on this afternoon. He added, "Thankfully, all parties involved sustained minor injuries, but without the actions of this heroic young lady could have easily turned out differently”.
"Happinass" editor Comments: How many times we meet such cases, and we would say to ourselves :"someone would appear and do that job, we are too busy to stop and help, we are always running behind our defined schedule"... but that "someone" can be YOU, as time can be critical in life savings. Be the hero!
