The Bailong Elevator in Zhangjiajie, China, is known as the Bailong Elevator or Hundred Dragons Elevator, is a glass double-deck elevator built on the side of a cliff in Zhangjiajie, People's Republic of China, that rises 326 meters (1,070 feet). It is claimed to be the highest outdoor elevator in the world. The elevator takes visitors to the top of a sandstone peak, providing stunning panoramic views of the surrounding mountains and landscape.
According to Guinness World Records, it was the world's tallest outdoor elevator on 16 July 2015[5], as well as the fastest passenger elevator with the largest capacity.
In October 1999, construction began on the elevator, and it was completed by 2002.[3] The elevator was embedded in the mountain wall at the lower 505 feet, and exposed at the upper 565 feet.
