Plastic water bottle: are they really safe to drink?

Most people will use plastic water bottles of various types and sizes because they believe that they are safer and healthier, in addition to being easy to use, especially on special occasions, but what was recently revealed may be shocking and make you think about not resorting to them.

A recent study found that a water bottle could contain a quarter of a million pieces of plastic. Scientists have discovered a new class of pollution called nanoparticles, which are created when microplastics break down further.

A technology developed by Columbia University showed that the actual amount of plastic pieces floating in the water is up to 100 times more than previously thought when nanoplastic particles are included, according to a report published by the British newspaper “The Telegraph”.

This alarming data further underscores the importance of reducing plastic waste and adopting more sustainable practices.
