🎹Richard Abel - Funiculì, Funiculà

Funiculì, Funiculà" is a Neapolitan song composed in 1880 by Luigi Denza to lyrics by Peppino Turco.

It was written to commemorate the opening of the first funicular railway on Mount Vesuvius. It was presented by Turco and Denza at the Piedigrotta festival the same year. The sheet music was published by Ricordi and sold over a million copies within a year. Since its publication, it has been widely adapted and recorded.

This instrumental version is composed by Richard Abel

For Richard Abel, music "is a balm that heals the wounded soul", It’s as though I wanted to bring comfort to people with the help of music”.

Instrumental music is without frontiers and when you know Richard Abel’s youthfulness and ardor, you understand why his talents are solicited to the four corners of the planet.
