Vacation helps reduce heart disease, stress, depression and anxiety and contributes to enhancing work performance in part
If you want to be more successful at work.. you just have to stay away from it, and if you are one of those who are afraid to take their annual leave even though it is paid, you may change your mind. And if you think that creativity comes from continuing to work without giving yourself a treat, you might be wrong too
A recent American study published by the Pew Research Center showed that half of the respondents did not take their annual leave, even though it was paid.
This result shocked the experts, who confirmed that vacation is beneficial for physical and mental health, as it helps reduce heart disease, stress, depression and anxiety.
The study found that spending 10 hours a month on vacation was associated with an average employee 8% increase in annual performance appraisals.
The study concluded that over 5,000 people who use more of their vacation days are promoted at nearly twice the rate of those who leave more days on the table.
The study authors emphasized that taking leave even for one day significantly contributes to improving the required work results, and the scientists concluded that leave contributes to enhancing work performance in part because it works as fuel for the mind to enhance the employee's creative thinking.
