A lion "roaming around" in a Pakistani city 🦁

Pakistani police said that an adult lion escaped from a private car amid a traffic jam in the city of Karachi in southern Pakistan, terrorizing citizens for two hours before it was caught.

The police statement said that Malik al-Assad was transporting him when he fled on the main road of the crowded coastal city during peak traffic hours.

Wildlife Inspector in Pakistan, Mukhtiyar Soomro, said in a statement to Reuters: “Our teams rushed here immediately... He is with us and is fine and no one is in danger now.”

The fleeing lion entered the basement of a nearby building after wandering the road for some time.

The Wildlife Department reported that the lion was transferred to its compound as keeping lions in residential areas is prohibited.
