A power bank causes an emergency landing in a passenger plane in Hong Kong

The Hong Kong News Portal (HK01) reported that a passenger plane on a flight from the Philippine island of Boracay to Shanghai made an emergency landing in Hong Kong after a “power bank” belonging to one of its passengers exploded.

The accident occurred yesterday, Monday, when a passenger's "power bank" exploded, filling the cabin with smoke. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.

A video clip of the direct effects of the explosion was captured on board Flight RW602, showing smoke rising heavily from the front section of the cabin, causing some passengers to panic, and they moved quickly towards the back of the plane to avoid inhaling the smoke.

In response to the emergency, the pilot made the decision to make an emergency landing in Hong Kong. Authorities quickly arrived at the scene, including airport firefighters and emergency rescue personnel, who dealt with the accident.

After about an hour, the situation was resolved, and the plane was able to resume its flight, arriving at its intended destination in Shanghai at approximately 12:30 a.m. on Tuesday, causing a delay of 3 hours.
