Beware...you may eat a cake with a $4,000 diamond inside! (photo)

Customers at a small bakery in Kansas City, United States, may find themselves eating a different type of dessert, one of which may have a thousands-of-dollar diamond inside.

The owner of Sis Sweets Cookies & Cafe has put out an appeal for help finding a $4,000 diamond, which she believes may have fallen into the dough, and was baked into a cake sold at her local store in Leavenworth.

Dawn Sis Monroe said she noticed the central diamond in her engagement ring, which she has not worn a day in nearly four decades, was gone last Friday after baking cakes in her bakery.

Monroe indicated that she and her employees carefully searched the kitchen as soon as she noticed the stone had disappeared. She added: "I looked at my hand, and the center diamond was gone. We went back to the kitchen and looked around. I was crying, and all my husband could say was, 'You still have me,' which made it even better."

The baker published news about the missing stone not only to ask for help, but also to warn customers that they should bite into her biscuits carefully.

“The main reason was I didn't want them to break a tooth,” Monroe said. She promised to offer a reward to anyone who would find and bring her back.
