Vishwas Kumar Ramesh, 40, miraculously survived the Indian plane crash that killed 279 people. He managed to eject from the plane seconds before it exploded.

"A true miracle." The sole survivor of the Indian plane crash recounts the details of his amazing escape before it exploded.

The sole survivor confirmed that he sustained only minor injuries, describing what happened as a "miracle." He is currently receiving treatment at the Civil Hospital in Ahmedabad, near the crash site, where he told media outlets that his health is improving daily.

The attending physician explained that his injuries were limited to minor scratches on his left arm and swelling around his left eye, with no internal injuries or fractures, confirming that his health is stable.

Ramesh was returning to London, where his family lives, on the flight to Gatwick Airport, after a nearly year-long visit to India with his brother, Ajay Kumar, 35, who was killed in the crash. While he was sitting in seat 11A, his brother was sitting across the aisle in seat 11J.

Ramesh recounted the details of his dramatic escape, exiting the plane through a broken emergency door after the section of the plane he was sitting in collapsed on a building. Local residents helped him survive before he was taken to the hospital. When asked if he jumped from the plane, he simply replied, "I didn't jump, I walked out."

The family is experiencing a mixture of joy over Vishwas's survival and grief over the loss of Ajay. The survivor's parents, wife, and relatives are scheduled to arrive from Britain to visit him. A relative confirmed that the family will hold a traditional Hindu funeral before returning to the UK.

It is worth noting that the accident is one of the deadliest aviation disasters of the 21st century, with 53 Britons killed in addition to victims on the ground. Investigations are ongoing to determine the cause of the disaster, with the participation of British experts.
