A Batik Air plane nearly crashed while landing at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport in Indonesia due to severe weather conditions. The plane was seen landing at an unusual angle, with one of its engines coming dangerously close to touching the runway, a scene that caused panic among air traffic controllers.

However, the pilot demonstrated a high level of professionalism and calm, managing to correct the landing angle at the crucial moment, saving the passengers and crew from an almost certain disaster. According to Danang Mandala Prihantoro, Strategic Corporate Communications Officer at Batik Air, the Boeing 737 had landed at the airport during heavy rain.

He noted that as the plane approached the runway, a strong crosswind blew, causing it to tilt on its side. He explained that the wind speed increased while the direction remained constant. He added, "Despite this, the aircraft landed safely and all flight procedures were followed."

After the accident, a team of aircraft engineers conducted a comprehensive inspection of the aircraft and concluded that the aircraft sustained no damage and could return to normal service.

The accident coincided with severe weather conditions in the Indonesian capital, Jakarta, including heavy rain, strong winds, and dense clouds. This disrupted air traffic, delayed several flights, and forced some aircraft to remain in the air pending improved visibility and landing conditions.
